A wepon rundown would be nice. Just like the rune and armor listing. |

There are no 'uber' weapons in GW. So I wouldn't say there is any 'best sword' but there are 'good' swords.

While it's what most would say, my money's on the dragon sword.
It affords you pure elemental damage and still gives you room for two more upgrades. -- Scaper-X |

It's the sword that Rurik carries.

It does seem like the Dragon Sword is the most popular sword of the game, at least once you start getting to the Lion's Arch. Luckily, I found myself a nice rare Dragon Sword whilst drake hunting right at the end of the event, so next event I'll have to check it out and see how much I can sell that bad boy for

Dragon swords look nice but aren't actually any better than any other sword. What "best sword" means is a sword that's at maximum damage, with a max modifier, and max upgrades that best suits your build. There are a lot of mods and upgrades and there are a lot of ways to take advantage of them so it really varies not just from build to build but from person to person.
Personally, I look for +weapon speed with Zealous, or +dmg. But you want them on a sword that does that 16~22 maximum damage or whatever it is these days.

Believe that swords top out at 15-22 (min-max) as of last beta.
And yes, having mods that correlate with one's build type is always best. -- Scaper-X |

And Dragon swords don't always have a max 22 dmg, so they aren't always the "best sword" out there. Any sword with a max of 22 dmg and some nice stats (either found on or you added yourself with upgrades) is what you really want when you get to high lvl.

But yeah, any sword with the maxed damage could be considered the best, as long as you have a nice hilt to add and customize it. Everything depends on what you like, there's a lot of freedom to create your "best" sword. |

Not all Dragons swords are that great ....
For instance, I found a dragon sword that was white (yes, not a rare) ... it was still the max damage however. Another dragon sword I found only did elemental damage. (sure it can be upgraded), but I just wanted to emphasise the fact that some dragon swords, are actually quite ordinary... However, when it comes to looks, the dragon sword is the "sword of choice". On another note, some dragon swords can have great stats ... But yes, there are other swords that do the same damage range and can have great attributes. Personally, the Vampiric swords (life steal) are a good option as are the Zealot modifications (+1 energy per hit -1 regen). Anything with + damage (preferably without the while health is below 50%).

I have seen people walking around with a flaming sword, like Rurik's, what is that, and how much on average do they cost?
Thanks. |
